Blogging has become an essential marketing strategy for many businesses, micro and global. So if you are going to devote your precious business-building time to writing, you can get the best return possible by making it easy peasy for readers to share your posts.
There are many great plugins that will help you do this but today I’m talking about the one that has become almost a standard element on blogs the world over – Tweetmeme. It’s the tweet button you usually see sitting at the top right of a blog post, but note it’s only viewable once you click into a full blog post, rather than in an excerpt, since no-one should be tweeting a blog post they haven’t read themselves anyway!
To install the plugin on your site go to your Dashboard > Plugins > Add New and do a search on Tweetmeme. Hit “install”.
Once you’ve done this, it will show up in your dashboard menu, down below the Settings option. Click into Tweetmeme to adjust any settings you want. For example you might opt for the button not to show up on pages, only on posts. Importantly you can also add in your Twitter handle so that anyone retweeting your post will automatically include your own Twitter account name.
Any questions, do ask in the Comments area below. And why not RT this post by clicking my Tweetmeme button too?
